Matt is a former Official Lead Aircraft Accident Investigator for the United Stats Navy and Marine Corps. He has investigated multitudes of aviation accidents all over the world. His investigation and/or flight experience spans everything from supersonic military aircraft to experimental ultralights and everything in-between.

Matt is a former Official Lead Aircraft Accident Investigator for the United Stats Navy and Marine Corps. He has investigated multitudes of aviation accidents all over the world. His investigation and/or flight experience spans everything from supersonic military aircraft to experimental ultralights and everything in-between.
Matt has been accepted in Federal Court as an aviation accident reconstruction expert. He currently holds and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certification and is a Certified Flight Instructor- Instrument (CFI-I)
In addition to actively investigating, Matt is also the President of The Southern California Safety Institute, providing aviation safety and accident investigation training to civil and government organizations all over the world each year. Matt frequently lectures every year to these organizations. His experience in teaching the subject material on a continual basis, directly contributes to his ability to convey scientific opinions in a cogent and professional manner to the court.
